The food is always good, excellent chips and salsa and who can complain about an early happy hour for margaritas!!!! Estella is so nice!!
Alright so the ambience is such a vibe with the fire pits, little cabana, twinkle lights & tiki torches. I definitely loved the outside patio. The service was super fast & we got our food very quickly after ordering. Absolutely loved the chili verde on the tostada, it fell apart so easily & had great flavor. My enchilada was also so good. The chicken taco was good, not amazing. Next time I'd try one of the burritos. They also brought out 2 house-made hot sauces for us to try which was so nice & definitely flavorful. Im curious to see what this place is like for taco tuesday!
Ate at Carlos for many years before Covid. Back after 3 years. Food just as good. As with everything else, prices have increased substantially. Service staff still top notch. If you haven't tried Carlos, you should.
The food was very delicious, very tasty our first time there and the staff was very kind. The one chubby guy our server was super kind & sweet! I wish I knew his name but I forgot, but he was nice! The Jamaica, was BOMB . We got fajitas & BOMB. Recommend! The only thing maybe a spicer hot sauce, other than it was good! Also the horchata was good!
Food is excellent. Servers are attentive and friendly. We love the atmosphere. We thank Mercedes and the staff at Carlos Mexican Restaurant for a wonderful evening celebrating our son's engagement. The patio atmosphere for our group of 18 was just right. The service was outstanding tending to all our needs. Everyone enjoyed the food. We highly recommend Carlos Mexican Restaurant as a great place to eat anytime or to celebrate a special occasion!
WHAT AN EXCEPTIONAL EXPERIENCE!! We had the VERY good fortune to stop in today and enjoy their Salsa Fresca, Chile Rellenos, Chile Verde and their drinks. Service was so graciously welcoming and matched only by the food. The atmosphere is like a tropical setting in Mexico. ¡ Olé! - CAN'T WAIT TO RETURN!!
Great little hidden gem in Dana Point, we had the pleasure to meet the owner Mercedes, this time we sat inside and we were able to learn about the history of the restaurant, family owned for over three decades, great food with authentic cuisine and flavors, super attentive staff, great outdoor seating and cozy atmosphere inside. Our food experience was also very good and flavorful and Joanna provided excellent service. We heard that the Pozole and Menudo are a must try... For sure we are coming back for that!
